Albert F. Reeve

Albert F. Reeve, Treasurer

Bert Reeve grew up in Northern Ontario completing high school at North Bay. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in geological engineering at Michigan Technological University in 1961 and worked as a self employed mining geologist, based in Vancouver from 1963 to 1996. He and his wife Linda have been residents of Gibsons for the past 35 years. Bert is a life member of the Association of Professional Engineers of BC, a past member of the Gibsons Library board and served on the President's Advisory Council for the UBC Library from 2002 to 2006.

John McNevin

John McNevin, Chair

John McNevin, a long time resident of the Sunshine Coast and former Councillor of the Town of Gibsons has been supportive of the library since before the new building was accomplished. John is active in many community organizations and was instrumental in the Dakota Ridge ski project.

Janice Webb

Janice Webb, Secretary

Janice Webb, Secretary, has been a resident of the Sunshine Coast since 2002 when she moved from Kelowna BC with her daughter Anika. Janice is an employee of the Sunshine Coast Credit Union and an active member of the Sunshine Coast Rotary Club. She has been a long time supporter of the Gibsons Library.

Dawn Diamond

Dawn Diamond, Director

Dawn Diamond was drawn to Gibsons by a business opportunity in the early 1990s. She began working at the Sunshine Coast Credit Union in 2008. She has 2 grown daughters and 3 grown stepchildren. Dawn and her husband Jack live on a hobby farm with 2 dogs, 2 sheep and an assortment of chickens. She joined the Library Board Foundation in March of 2010. She is involved in the Canadian Cancer Relay For Life and is a leader for this year's Sun Run clinic at the Gibsons & Area Recreation Centre. She's an avid reader and is thrilled to have the opportunity to make a difference.

Manjit Kang

Manjit Kang, Director

After completing a successful career with TELUS, where he held several national leadership positions in Marketing, Operations and Project Management, Manjit is now the owner of a technology company providing personalized consulting and training services. Since moving to the Coast from North Vancouver 3 years ago, Manjit has expanded his community involvement as a Trustee of the Gibsons District Public Library Board and the Library Foundation. In addition, he's the upcoming President of the Sunshine Coast TELUS Community Ambassadors, who support a variety of local volunteer initiatives.
Manjit and his wife live in Roberts Creek, but are frequent visitors to North Vancouver to visit family, especially their grandson, Charlie.

Russell Crum

Russell Crum, Director

Russell Crum, Director, is a resident of Roberts Creek and has practiced law in Gibsons for the past thirty years. He has served as a Trustee of the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation and is an enthusiastic supporter of the Gibsons Public Library.

Gifts to the Library

2011

$6000 for furniture and equipment upgrades and for an e-book reader loans pilot project.

2010

$4500 for a CD listening station, furniture renewals, book club in a bag program and electronic upgrades for public internet work stations.

2009

$5,570 for the purchase of three barcode readers/scanners for book processing, a gel mat for the staff working behind the circulation desk and Screenweave sun/heat blinds for the south facing windows of the library.

2008

$3,650 for the purchase of a disc repair machine for DVDs, CDs and games, floor pillows for the Children's Section and a contribution towards the expansion of the audio media book collection.

August 10, 2007

$7,460 to the Library Board for the purchase of fifty copies of the new Harry Potter book, a book check unit for use with the new materials security system, two receipt printers for the materials check out and five bistro tables and chairs.

July 28, 2006

$5,750 for the purchase of a multimedia projector, multimedia cabinet, replacement of the window covering in the Mainil Room and four leather armchairs for the reading room.

July 4, 2005

$9,600 for the purchase of the Envisionware PC Booking software and replacement of six bar code scanners.

October 2004

$4,170 for the purchase of an Online Public Access Computer tables, fixed periodical shelving and fifty copies of a book to support the "Coast reads One Book" project.
